Both villas feature contemporary Asian styling, with hand crafted furniture, gorgeous Thai silks, seamless indoor/outdoor living and the lush surrounds of a tropical oasis. Each has its own private treatment area, for the exclusive use of in-house guests, where a range of luxurious treatments are lavished on you by some of Byron's most qualified therapists. For those who like to stay in touch with the outside world, the latest electronic entertainment and security technologies have also been included. Nothing is overlooked, nothing compromised. Indeed, the villas are fully equipped with all the little extras that make them a luxurious home-away-from-home - fine bed linen, soft thick towels, Dr Hauschka organic skin care gift packs, gourmet teas and coffee, locally produced cookies and hand made chocolate sensations.
In the heritage quarter of Byron bay you will find two luxurious freestanding character homes - Massinger Spa & Sanctuary and Blisshouse Carlyle , each with their own distinctive style. Just a minute's stroll apart, making them an ideal option for larger groups.
From a day bed on the deep verandahs of Blisshouse Massinger Spa & Sanctuary, you can soak up the balmy bay breezes and bluest of skies. On the large entertainment deck at the rear you can dine under the stars. From the extensive tropical gardens, which feature many rare and exotic flowering plants, you can get back in touch with the real world. From its high, decorative ceilings to its ornate timber furnishings, rich textiles and exotic ambience, Massinger is all about relaxing in style. Blisshouse Massinger Spa & Sanctuary is a stunning example of Federation architecture - a large home located in the heritage part of Byron Bay just minutes to the famous Clarkes surf beach and town centre.
Blisshouse Carlyle exudes century-old elegance. Designed in keeping with the style and proportions of a graceful Victorian home, Carlyle will captivate your imagination with its stunning combination of leadlight windows, hand painted ceilings, ornate timberwork, parquetry flooring and antique crystal chandeliers.
There is no shortage of appealing options for relaxing from lounging in the cinema room to enjoying a chat by the gas fireside, finding a quiet sunny spot on the verandah or stroll around the lush tropical gardens. Choose your favourite sanctuary in this serene space for an indulgent facial, massage or body treatment - Bliss Spa therapists are on hand to help you truly unwind. Of course balance is everything, so you may also feel inspired to cook up a storm in the gourmet kitchen or entertain friends and family on the spacious outdoor deck.

Blisshouse Carlyle

Room Type:

Self-contained 3 bedroom house

Room Information:

Blisshouse Carlyle?s spacious proportions and Victorian charm combine for gracious living. Here, amongst hand painted ceilings, ornate timberwork, parquetry flooring with figurine inlays and antique French crystal chandeliers, you?ll find yourself slipping effortlessly into a slower pace. It comes as no surprise then, to learn the house is named after Nineteenth Century poet, Thomas Carlyle, whose sentiments reflect the very essence of this gorgeous guesthouse: Here hath been dawning / Another blue Day / Think wilt thou let It / Slip useless away? When not at the beach (just minutes? walk from Carlyle), or in town shopping and eating, you?ll find no shortage of places in which to lounge and entertain. Outdoors, catch cool summer breezes on the wide northern verandah as you laze in antique chairs, crafted from teak and rattan. Alternatively, set yourself up on a generously sized siesta lounge, plumped high with cushions. The lush tropical gardens surrounding the house feature some of Byron?s most established frangipani trees and one of Byron?s oldest and largest fig trees, a majestic centrepiece to the pond, lawn, sculpture and contemplation spaces which surround it. Indoors, a vaulted leadlight and paneled ceiling are the highlights of the tranquil lounge room. While away the hours in front of the gas fireplace, cosied up with a fluffy rug and luxuriating in the depths of the four seater lounge. An atmosphere of gentle sophistication is inspired by the elegant flowing lines of French Provencial style furniture. Dim the lights to instantly convert the space into a comfortable cinema room, complete with 42? LCD flat screen, cable and hi fidelity stereo sound. A light filled sunroom offers alternative lounging space, with comfy seating to curl up in. Here you can choose from a selection of books, magazines, games and DVDs Carlyle has on offer. The fully equipped gourmet kitchen features handcrafted timber cabinetry and a wide island bench for easy entertaining. A BBQ is also available in the lush garden surrounds. Dine alfresco on the rear entertaining deck, or enjoy the intimate space of the dining room, featuring soothing shades of cream and sage timber furniture with fully upholstered chairs. Three large bedrooms each feature a Queen sized bed, draped with mosquito netting and dressed in soft, sumptuous linen. A private ensuite is located off each room. Robes provide ample storage during your stay and air conditioning provides personal comfort. Two of the rooms feature flat screen TVs for lazy nights in. Stunning leadlight and floreal glass, created by local artisan, is a feature of every room throughout the house, Floors are also an artwork in themselves, using a mixture of bluegum, teak and kauri parquetry to striking effect. A round of golf on an 18 hole championship courses. A private yoga lesson. Take a splash in the surf - whether it's at one of the busy patrolled beaches, an isolated cove, or nudist hideaway.
Or resurrect the adventurous spirit in yourself and have a go at hang gliding, horse riding, surf school, dolphin kayaking, fishing, whale watching, scuba diving, snorkeling, mountain bike riding, trekking, micro flight, scenic joy flight, quad biking or sky diving.
Decisions, decisions. Perhaps tomorrow you could just chill out again today.
Tantalise your tasebuds
Byron Bay is spoiled for choice when it comes to dining out. Indeed, there's no excuse for dining at the same place twice. Many cafes take advantage of the stunning coastline, others are amongst the buzz and colour of the town's centre, while others are far, far way from it all. The area prides itself on its quality local produce from surrounding farmlands and the sea, a delight you will savour whether in a casual little cafe or a chefs hat-awarded fine dining restaurant.
