Charming, eco-friendly cottages each in their own bushland, adjacent to the Blue Mountains National Park. The cottages, Wattle or Tea Tree Cottages for couples, Banksia or Waratah Cottages for small groups and families. All cottages are fully self-contained, with good kitchens, have wood fires for winter, verandahs for summer, and come with quality linen and the special character of homes that are well-loved and cared for. Cottages are specially designed and built for the Blue Mountains environment and each sits gently in its own hectare or so of beautiful bush.
Standards of comfort are high, with good beds and bedding, comfy couches and lots of small extras. At the same time, the cottages make as little impact on the environment as possible, using solar power and rainwater, with gas cooking and hot water. You don?t have to be ?green? to love Bunjaree, but you may come away a slight shade in the that direction!

Wattle Cottage

A very special Blue Mountains experience. The cottage is secluded, with a large upstairs bedroom, a two person spa bath, bush all around and a warm fire to laze away an evening in front of. Wattle Cottage was designed with both romance and environmental values in mind. The result is a unique, hand-built home, with curved internal walls, and spaces which are easily heated - and all your own. Take a glass of wine to the upper deck - the moon rises in front of you when it's full and wallabies are often spotted at dusk or you can simply look down into the lovely valley below. And all of this on solar power (with a little support from gas for hot water)!

Tea Tree Cottage

Tea Tree Cottage is our most secluded cottage, yet only minutes from the prettiest village in the Blue Mountains. There's a warm wood fire and all the comforts of home in this delightful Australian design cottage. In the warmer months, open the French doors in the bedroom and you can lie and look out at the wildflowers. Whatever the time of year, light the candles supplied for evening romance. You will feel yourself to be in a gentle time and place. AND: Tea Tree also has the most wonderful bush-view bath house. Warm in winter, cool in summer, the bathhouse is a fabulous for a romantic evening - or morning or afternoon. In the cooler months, the spacious room entices with a warm 'chiminea' - a South American clay fireplace. The bath house can be fully enclosed - if you want it to be - and has a deep bath, piping hot water and beautiful, rustic decor. Or you can open the wide doors and lie in the warm water, looking out at the wonderful bush, the boundless sky, the soaring birds. Candles are supplied for evening use. The bath house is intimate, secluded, just off the back verandah and for the exclusive use of Tea Tree guests. AND Tea Tree cottage is all on one level and also has a main bathroom (off the bedroom) with large shower and disabled facilites.

Banksia Cottage

Banksia Cottage has a lovely northern aspect with rare Blue Mountains plants in the bush around the cottage. Banksia is spacious enough to accommodate a family or small group, cosy enough to snuggle into. Like all Bunjaree Cottages, Banksia is built for the Blue Mountains environment, is earth-walled and well insulated, with the natural colour off-set with blues and greens on the internal walls. Banksia is particularly charming and many visitors return  again and again. AND, Banksia Cottage now has access to the 'Finbar's Folly' - the world's most wonderful cubby! Finbar's Folly has been specially built for our young guests but is room sized, and has cathedral ceilings so that adults can enjoy it as well. Toys, games, kid's size furniture all provided. The most magical place! Sleeps a max of 7 adults in 5 beds. Downstairs bedroom with queen bed. Upstairs bedroom with double bed and double bunk. High quality sofa bed in living room (queen).

Waratah Cottage

There really are wild waratahs growing near Waratah Cottage (they bloom in spring). Theres also flocks of rosellas, several varieties of finches, black cockatoos and sometimes some gang-gangs as well. Behind Waratah Cottage is a track leading to Bunjarees hanging swamp  a beautiful rock and fern formation almost unique to the Blue Mountains. Waratah is a delightful home for a family or small group. AND, Waratah Cottage now has access to the 'Kid's Cottage" - the world's most wonderful cubby! The Kid's Cottage has been specially built for our young guests to play in, it's room sized, and has high ceilings so that adults can enjoy it as well. Toys, games, kid's size furniture all provided - including verandah seating. Sleeps max 7 adults in 5 beds. Downstairs bedroom with queen bed. Upstairs bedroom with double bed and double bunk (sleeping up to 4). Sofa bed in living room (queen).

Reception Information:

For a carbon POSITIVE, truly green stay we now have a wood levy. It's $10 per night, payable as you use, in your cottage. Your wood is sourced from already fallen wood in western NSW, and is paid for by Bunjaree out of your tariff; the wood levy helps pay for some extra splitting, but mostly goes to the local conservation society for a replanting and regeneration project in the Capertee Valley (near Lithgow). This means more trees are planted, and erosion prevented, and habitats provided than are destroyed in the wood you burn and the emissions from it.

Things to do:

At Bunjaree you have a perfect Blue Mountains bush settings with superior comfort, unsurpassed sustainability walks, wildflowers, fabulous birds and much more at your doorstep. The choice of longer walks nearby or a short drive to Echo Point and the Three Sisters. 'Wenty' village just a few mins away for some of the best coffee and cakes you've ever tasted. The opportunity to make a positive contribution to the environment by choosing to stay in homes which make very little demand on the environment they sit so peacefully in.
