Local Attractions:
The valley road ends in open pasture and working banana plantations. The General Store, opened in 1890, invites you to remember a bygone era. The old Community Hall was the first Macedonian Church in Australia. A Chinese market garden existed and in the 1950s the area was farmed by many Italian families. Today the Community Hall is the social focus for locals.
It celebrated its centenary in Sept 2008.

If you want to "get away from it all" then this may be the place for you. Fishing and surfing are the main attractions at this long stretch of isolated beach. From Wooyung you can see north to Tweed Heads and south to Byron Bay lighthouse. The beach is an ideal place to whale watch mid-year.
Crabbes Creek provides a convenient and ideal respite from music & other festivals such as Splendour in the Grass, Blues and Roots in Byron Bay, Speed on Tweed in Murwillumbah, Writers\' Festivals, National Cycling events, Brunswick Heads \"Fish & Chips\" & the Poker Championships at Billinudgel.
